Cityscapes

cityscapes

We sit in traffic staring at the red taillights in front of us. Los Angeles at its most irritating. Artist Scott Yeskel perceives a different reality, a glimmering, glowing blur of a second snapped off and preserved on canvas. His work, much of which chronicles the everyday banality of our city–boxy apartments, smoggy skies, palms silhouetted against the sunset–is fresh, striking, sensitive and an alternative way of seeing reality.

He brings soul to the soulless and life to the streets where people do not walk.
