Motorist stabbed, carjacked in Van Nuys

VAN NUYS – Police were searching today for a man who stabbed a motorist with a 12-inch knife, then stole his white SUV.
Witnesses told authorities they saw the unidentified victim and the assailant arguing just before the attack at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 6600 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, said Los Angeles Police Detective John Dunlop. Details of the incident, including the make and model of the sport-utility vehicle, were not released

The victim remained hospitalized today, Dunlop said.

The suspect was described only as a 25- to 30-year-old Latino, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
