Man injured in car-to-car Van Nuys shooting

VAN NUYS – A young man was shot in the shoulder in a car-to-car shooting along Woodley Avenue, police said today.
The unidentified man, who refused to go to the hospital for his injuries, was driving down Woodley between Victory and Vanowen with his 16-year old cousin about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The driver of a lime green Ford focus, filled with three other men with shaved heads, spotted the two and made a U-turn. Apparently both men had been involved in a prior altercation. Somebody from the Focus shot three times.
Sgt. Blaine Blackstone of the LAPD Van Nuys division said it could be gang-related, but the injured man said he was not in a gang.
