The tree lined median that today runs down the center of Chandler Boulevard in Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys, was still a Pacific Electric track in 1951. The other half of the collision is the car, pictured here.

What might have caused this accident? Perhaps the driver was writing a letter while he was driving. No, that sounds stupid, who would even attempt to do that?

And poor Mr. Holzer, if he is still alive, he is 120, and hopefully recovered from this accident.
