Saticoy and Balboa: Storage Facility.

This is a storage facility near Saticoy and Balboa in Van Nuys.

Some of the most “livable” architecture these days is built for places where nobody lives. Here is an architectural composition: a row of brick buildings, harmonious in their proportions, with an elegant corner clock.

A large tree, on the left, is really a steel cell phone tower.

In the golden hour, near sunset, this structure has a self-assuredness, as if it were the anchor of an old part of town.

With a little more work, a builder might erect a twin across the parking lot, add some street trees and sidewalks, and create a little town here.

There are dozens of cell trees of various flavors in the Valley. I have a few of the more interesting sites posted at http://www.CellularPCS.com in the Gallery section.
