Andrew Sullivan has a post on his blog concerning Mrs. Clinton’s reaction to Obama’s characterization of some voters as stuck on guns and gay marriage while their country spends trillions on war and lets millions go uninsured.

Again, she is trying to unseat and destroy Obama by distorting his truths into some kind of elitist snobbery against “real Americans”. What Obama said is exactly on target: people will vote on culture issues that do little to improve their own lives.

Like her pants suits and personality, Mrs. Clinton changes daily. She is fighting mad, she is thoughtful, she cries, she laughs, she is assertive, she is apologetic, she is wronged, she is self-righteous. If she were an airline pilot, she would change altitude every minute while passengers threw up and got ill. Her campaign has been a disaster, because it is so calculating, and “on message”…yet her message has now been reduced to belittling Obama.

I believe that Obama will eventually prevail if he keeps going. He has brought a level of articulation and passion to politics that is completely new.

The first job of a politician is to get people to listen. Right now, nothing Mrs. Clinton says even registers.
