Chasing Christmas Clouds: Part II

Mid-afternoon, on Christmas Day, we ventured up to North Hollywood, Sunland and Sun Valley to chase dark clouds.

We first stopped at 7354 Coldwater Canyon Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91605.

Here the railroad tracks and the industrial signs provided vivid contrast against the sky.

We drove east, without GPS, exploring by looking outside.

At Hansen Dam, randomly found, we saw the best views of the sky. In the distance we could see the rain, but stupidly we stood up on the rim of the dam path and only watched, ignoring what was coming.

Then the rains came, and we were drenched as we ran down a rocky hillside towards our car. I was carrying my Fuji XT-30II, hoping it wouldn’t get ruined.

When we got to the car, I sat down and dried off the camera. It worked fine.

The rain came down hard.

We drove west, sheets of water hitting the windshield.

And then at once, the sun came out and the rain was gone.
