Olympic City: Sepulveda Boulevard

As Los Angeles prepares to host the 2028 Olympics the city has been busy being itself.

On Sepulveda Boulevard, near Costco, the former home of Van Nuys Marble and Granite and the discarded wrapping of Fatburger present a colorful sight.

Burned out for many months, this wreck has hosted the 2026 Los Angeles Fire Department on several occasions.

Apparently, Councilwoman Imelda Padilla, whose office is ten minutes away, is not aware of this blight.

Instead, the political class that autopilots the ship of this city makes pronouncements on stopping policies it has no control over. Such as Mayor Bass’s egregiously illogical prohibition on where federal police can congregate.

The Mayor is like a 92-year-old woman standing on a bridge over the 405 and screaming “From now on I prohibit any car from speeding! Are you listening?”

Meanwhile the day to day conditions of Los Angeles disintegrate.

Local governance is MIA.
