One of the most beautiful spots in Los Angeles, I think.
You stand on a cliffside park, planted lushly with palms, flowers and native plants. Hundreds of feet below you is the Pacific Ocean, and in the distance are mountains.
This is where the American continent ends, a destination point for those who imagine that life in the Golden State might somehow lead them into contentment.
The same city where people sleep on the street, kids are shot in the head for no reason, and homeless and ill people are dumped by hospitals to save money.
Are we living up to the promise of California?
