One of the ironies of life, or real estate, is that good neighborhoods are sought after, thereby endangering the very qualities that made them desirable in the first place.
Studio City, near CBS Studios, is now on the fast track to completely make itself over from a casually friendly little neighborhood of one and two-story garden apartments into a “luxury” condominium area.
Two whole blocks of post-WWII bungalow buildings at 4043-4063 and 4109-4125 N.Radford Avenue, chiefly used as production offices, were recently cleared. Construction is proceeding on new residential units.
On January 25, 2004, the LA City Planning Commission first heard of plans to demolish 13 office buildings and replace them with two-5 story residential buildings, one with 81 dwelling units, the other with 68. The two structures will build some 285 parking spaces to accomodate all the new tenants.
300 new cars will effortlessly glide along the glistening streets of Studio City by 2009……..
