President Huckabee?

The new conservative columnist for the New York Times is the neo-con, Bill Kristol. At the very moment in history when we face global warming, deficits, competition from China, lethal threats from terrorists, the need to reform health care and education, Kristol lays out his argument why we may need Huckabee:

“Americans — even Republicans! — are ready for a likable regular guy. Huckabee seems to be that. He came up from modest origins. He served as governor of Arkansas for more than a decade. He fought a successful battle against being overweight. These may not be utterly compelling qualifications for the presidency…….”

If these are the qualifications for the Oval Office, then there are about 290 Million other Americans who might also be fit to run for the highest job in the land.

  1. From your link: One secular New Hampshire Republican’s reaction: “Gee, he’s not some kind of crazy Christian. He’s an ordinary American.”

I’m not so sure. Mike Huckabee wants to ensure that a woman would not have to right to an abortion, and ensure that marriage remains defined as the union between a man and woman. What is the difference between his religious fanaticism and that of those brown people he abhors?
Mike Hick-a-bee is a crazy man, just one who can play the guitar.

  2. Bill Kristol may like to call himself a conservative, but he doesn’t really talk nor write like one. As long as he is for overlord federal government, he will not be accepted by regular conservatives, let alone your neo-con labeled.
