1. The tricky part about small truly affordable homes is that they allow people with low incomes to live in them. It isn’t merely the structures like Tiny Homes that the culture rejects, it’s the people who will inhabit them that are intentionally filtered out. Forbidding Tiny Homes via the building code and zoning regulations is all about preserving the value and “neighborhood character” of people with larger homes and more money, while changing the rules to permit them is “social engineering.”

   1. That’s why we need better architecture in multi family dwellings which brings more community to the surroundings and may help convince opponents that new dwellings are a potential asset, not a detriment.
